Matt is a graduate of Boyce College at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, Kentucky, with a degree in interdisciplinary studies. He also holds a Masters degree from Campbellsville University in Theology.

Matt is the founder and pastor of Freedom Baptist Church, Louisville, and is an author, and is also actively involved in politics.

Matt and his wife Courtney currently reside in Southwest Louisville, KY.
